Computer addiction can have a variety of negative effects on a person. The most immediate are social. The user withdraws from friends and family as he spends more and more time on thecomputer. Relationships begin to wither as the user stops attending social gatherings, skips meetings with friends and avoids family members to get more computer time. Even when they do interact with their friends, users may become irritable when away from the computer, causing further social harm.
Eventually, excessive computer use can take an emotional toll. The user gradually withdraws into an artificial world. Constant computer gaming can cause someone to place more emotional value on events within the game than things happening in their real lives. Excessive viewing of Internet pornography can warp a person's ideas about sexuality. Someone whose primary friends are screen names in a chat room may have difficulty with face-to-face interpersonal communication.
Over the long term, computer addiction can cause physical damage. Using a mouse and keyboard for many hours every day can lead to repetitive stress injuries. Back problems are common among people who spent a lot of time sitting at computer desks. Late-night computer sessions cut into much-needed sleep time. Long-term sleep deprivation causes drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, and depression of the immune system. Someone who…...

...Of Mice and Men Chapter 7, by Kristen Randall The sun began to sink into the night over the land and all was quiet. There was not a bird to be heard chirping nor a cricket heard humming. A river in the distance could not be heard flowing for it sat still, still as dead leaves in a windless fall. The lowering sun cast a shadow of the day over a broken worn man as he stepped quietly into a bar driven only by misery. “He didn't deserve it,” George mumbled into his empty whiskey glass, “Didn't even know what he was doing.” “That woman is the one to blame,” Slim replied, “The dumb girl should have know better than to go poking her nose into another man's business.” Slim sighed, “Aint no need for her being in the barn, aint no need for her talking to any man but her own. “Didn't deserve a thing,” George continued, “Man had never done anything to intentionally hurt even the smallest mouse, didn't judge or hate anyone.” George began to laugh “Hell, at least now I don't got to worry about anyone but myself. I can take my pay at the end of every month and go stay at a cat house.” He laughed harder, “Hell maybe I'll even be able to get myself a girl! Now that I aint got no stupid bastard lingering behind me anymore.” George began to weep “At least one of my dreams came true.” Tears hit the wooden floor as George sobbed and sobbed. The first ray of moonlight shone through a window onto Slim's hanging head. An old gentleman who's face could not be seen sat in a corner making no......

...things taking place as for example: child “production” & trafficing. A lot of movies about india also have this subject in common, The over population of children. You always see children running around in flocs and asking for money/food & sometimes even autographs(slumdog millionaire). The autograph's could easily be sold for money or collected on. It does happen from time to time though that people (Also a lot of tourists) find compassion in these children, as in the text “chokra” that the quotation is from. It does not seem like the children cares about the compassion they get, more than the money they it gets them. In the movie “a slumdog millionaire” jamal and his brother and the girl arrive at the “orphanarium” where some more grown-up men take care of them, in exchange for begging on the streets. They use the same method as the one that was used on Munmun in “chokra”. The best example is the boy on the orphanarium: They poured acid into his eye's to blind him in the hope that it would help increase the ammount of money he got from begging, the same way as they crippled munmun in the hope of the same. ...

Men vs Women

...Men and Women Communication Conversation is the most common form of communication, but it may not be as simple as we think it is. Women and men have many differences while communicating between each other. Men can only comprehend men, as women also comprehend in its totality to women. In the article “Sex, Lies, and Conversation” by Deborah Tannen is stated how women and men differ in the way they bond with each other, their childhood socialization, the physical positions each gender practices while communicating, and their listening habits. There are many differences in the way we bond with our gender. According to Tannen’s article, with women it is developing a relationship; intimacy and talk are the main practices that give strength to the relation, like exchanging secrets. However, men base their relationships on the things they do together: actual experiences. “Women expect their husband to be a new and improved version of best friend.”(Tannen 441) That implies that women are expecting men to respond as women do in certain conditions, like as said before exchanging secrets. This is one of the most remarkable differences between man and woman that make each other uncomfortable while communicating. In order for a gender to create a total different structure while socializing, it must be developed before, as we grow up from childhood. “Boys and girls tend to play with children of their own gender, and their sex-separate groups have different organizational......

There have been at least two groups that called themselves "The Proverbs". In addition, many albums have been named with allusions to proverbs, such as Spilt milk (a title used by Jellyfish and also Kristina Train), The more things change by Machine Head, Silk purse by Linda Rondstadt, Another day, another dollar by DJ Scream Roccett, The blind leading the naked by Vicious Femmes, What's good for the goose is good for the gander by Bobby Rush, Resistance is Futile by Steve Coleman, Murder will out by Fan the Fury. Macho Men Are the Only Real Men

...is: if the image about women only being feminine has changed, how come men are still pressured to only be masculine? Are “macho” men the only “real” men? Does it take a strong jaw-line, defined and muscular abs, and a beer in one hand to be considered a “true” man? Today’s world has summed up men to be just that… In order to be considered real men, they can’t wear the color pink, drink diet soda, do housework, drink fruity-flavored alcoholic drinks, or be anything less than a sports-loving, scotch-drinking, gym-going, and woman-loving guy. In an ad about the new Dr. Pepper soda, “Dr. Pepper Ten”, the slogan that Dr. Pepper used was “IT’S NOT FOR WOMEN” in big, bold letters. This message implies that the drink is meant to be only for men. Underneath the slogan, the ad reads “A lady-free zone of rugged, macho, hair-on-your-chest awesomeness that’s definitely not for women.” In this ad, not only is Dr. Pepper discriminating women, but it is also raising the question that if a guy is not “rugged, macho”, and has “hair on his chest” then, could he not drink that soda? Would he fall in the same category as the women who can’t drink it, therefore not be considered a man? Dr. Pepper made it clear that this drink was for men even though the description of the “ideal man” that they would like to drink their new soda is very specific and only a small percentage of the male population would fit those criteria. Yet, men continue to view this image of the ideal male as what they should......

There are several unique and different types of these business glass doors that one can select anyone from among them. Rise of Business glass doors From many years, the traditional homes and houses were using the single and the double wood doors. The door was the only material available for the beautification of the doors. For the purpose of the construction, wood was regarded as the favorite material. This material was very well liked by the men and the women. The wood was also very light weighted. Lastly, the wood was very simple to slice and into various styles and designs. 1950's Men & Today's Men

...1950’s Men and Today’s Men The gender role theory “posits that boys and girls learn to perform one's biologically assigned gender through particular behaviors and attitudes” (Boundless, 2015). The environmental causes of gender roles and the impact of socialization are emphasized by the gender role theory. The social role theory postulates that the social structure is the underlying force in determining gender roles. The social role theory also states that the division of labor between two sexes within a society drives sex-differentiated behavior. The division of labor is what created gender roles, which eventually, led to social behavior that could be defined as being gender specific in nature. Over the years, these roles would transform to adapt to the expectations of society’s current males. One popular trend of gender roles that has been commonly studied is workplace roles. For decades, men were viewed as the sole provider; therefore, the wife’s duties did not exceed past her home. She was in charge of caring for her husband, their children, and their home. Men were supposed to go to work every day to provide for their family, adequately meet all of their needs, and be someone that his children can look up to. In the 1950’s, men were coming back from war, and the women had filled the positions left open by men going off to World War II. During the 1960’s, known as the hippie era, gender roles began developing in a more neutral and equal manner, “but media still tried......
