The first one is that the classification may have an adverse impact on the contributions received by the donee exempt organization. Contributions may decline because the tax consequences for donors may not be as favorable as if the entity were not a private foundation. Second, The classification may result in taxation at the exempt organization level. Also since a private foundation is usually not a broadly, publicly supported organization, it may be subject to taxes such as Tax based on investment income, Tax on self- dealing, Tax on failure to distribute income, Tax on excess business holdings, Tax on investments that jeopardize charitable purposes and tax on taxable expenditures.

...developing of boards for beginners that can help them compete with companies like Surftech. Firewire Surfboards has a team of very creative entrepreneurs that had a vision to create the best surfboard available. However, with the creation of their featherweight boards the company should have anticipated both a drawback from veteran surfers along with the excitement of other venders wanting to put their company name on the design. Many surfers use equipment that has been made for their body or custom boards. In retrospect, Firewire Boards will be launching a line that can help them satisfy the demand of made-to-order boards. With the anticipation of the new boards, companies like Lost Surfboards liked the product enough to want to buy 250 units. The company was denied the order because Firewire wanted to establish its own name and identity to the surfing community. The surfboard company has many special attributes that can help them separate from the competition. For example, they use materials that make their product far lighter, stronger, and more flexible than the polyurethane foam-based competition. This attracts super-star surfers like teen sensation, Dusty Payne, who won the Kustom Air Strike, used a Firewire board. Also, by using environmentally friendly lamination, the company can stand ground because other company use chemically toxic foam blanks. Given the company’s recent shift in strategy, I believe the biggest challenges will be to be able to keep up with......

...What is NAS device? network-attached storage is a dedicated hard disk storage device that provides file-based data storage services to other devices on the network.. NAS allows more hard disk storage space to be added to a network that already utilizes servers without shutting them down for maintenance and upgrades. It delivers the data to the user and does not need to be located within the server but can exist anywhere in a LAN and can be made up of multiple networked NAS devices. Although it may technically be possible to run other software on a NAS unit, it is not designed to be a general purpose server. For example, NAS units usually do not have a keyboard or display, and are controlled and configured over the network, often using a browser. What is the speed of the network adapter available on a NAS device? 1GB Ethernet connection but it can be changed to multiple Gb, 10Gb, fiber optic by adding a PCIe network card(s). What is the capacity range? The capacity range also varies. With a port replication and add on hardware drive controller cards there really isn’t a limit on size. A board that has six SATA ports can be replicated allowing for thirty drives to be attached, if 3TB drives are used in RAID 50,that would be 72TB of storage. Is there any fault tolerance (such as RAID) built into a NAS device? If set up correctly RAID 50 is fairly stable, RAID 10 has been touted as one of the best set ups because more drives can fail at one time with having data......

...Unit 6 Lab 1: DNA Fingerprinting Arielle Chambers Ms. A. Wain ITT Technical Institute SC 2730 9 February 2015 1. What kinds of patient samples are used for the purpose of identifying possible pathogens? a. Fluid from lymph nodes b. Stool sample c. Urine sample d. Blood sample e. Sputum sample 2. What does PCR do, how does it work, and why is it useful? PCR is also known as the Polymerase Chain Reaction, it is a fast and inexpensive way to amplify small segments of DNA (genome.gov). PCR works by amplifying a segment of DNA, the sample is heated first the DNA denatures, or separates into two pieces of single-stranded DNA (genome.gov). After that an enzyme called Taq polymerase synthesizes builds two new strands of DNA, it uses the original strands as templates (genome.gov). The process results in the duplication of the original DNA, each of the new molecules contain one old and one new strand of DNA (genome.gov). Each of these strands can be used to create two new copies, and so on, and so on. The cycle of denaturing and synthesizing new DNA is repeated as many as 30 or 40 times, leading to more than one billion exact copies of the original DNA segment (genome.gov).The entire cycling process of PCR is automated and can be completed in just a few hours. It is directed by a machine called a thermo cycler; it is programmed to alter the temperature of the reaction every few minutes to allow DNA denaturing and synthesis (genome.gov). PCR is......

We have been recently approach by a Jordanian soft drink manufacturer that is smaller in size and has no experience in the global market. This manufacturer is said to have ties to the Jordanian Royal family. Although the “ties” have not been defined in the proposal I believe this should be investigated to fully understand the relationship with the royal family. As Ravi is a person of Iranian descent, he feels that it would be a benefit to create jobs and provide financial stability to the economy. In my researches of the Lebanese economy I have found out that they run a free market economy with a strong laissez-faire commercial tradition. I have uncovered some issues that may pose a threat for the global image of the Zip 6 organization. Some of these issues that I see with the current state of the economy could be something that is discharged because of the ties with the royal family. As a world leader in soft drink manufacturing, I believe that these economic risks are a potential threat to the Zip 6 organization. ... Unit 6: The Digestive System Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Tatianna Fulton ITT Technical Institute The digestive system is made up of many organs that play a role in the process of turning the food you eat into nutrients, which is used for energy, growth, and cell repair. Some of these organs also play a part in creating waste to be eliminated. The beginning of the digestive system starts in your mouth where you chew and breakdown food into pieces small enough to be digested. The throat receives food from the mouth which then goes through the esophagus to get to your stomach. The stomach is where food is held but also secretes acid to continue the process of breaking down food, changing it to a liquid or paste, food then moves to the small intestine where some nutrients from the food is absorbed and helps breakdown food more. The next organ is the large intestine that is responsible for the processing waste so that defecation is easy and suitable to exit through the rectum. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid flows back into your esophagus, the reflux irritates the lining of your esophagus and causes GERD. GERD symptoms include a burning sensation in your chest, sometimes spreads to the throat, chest pain, difficulty swallowing, dry cough, hoarseness or sore throat. If you have to take heartburn meds more than twice a week or experience frequent GERD symptoms, then you need to see a doctor. “When you swallow, the lower esophageal......

Page 1 of 4 MAP4C Class #: _____ Date: ______________ Part B – Grouped Data If data is already grouped into intervals, only an approximation of the centre of the data can be made. For grouped data, we use the midpoint of each interval. The following table shows the number of hours per day of watching TV in a sample of 500 people: Hours Frequency 0-1 55 2-3 87 4-5 145 6-7 90 8-9 73 10-11 35 12-13 15 a) What is the mean number of TV viewing hours in this group? b) What length of time is most often spent in front of a TV for this group (mode)? c) What is the median number of TV viewing hours?
