My experiences so far in this course have been a blast I have gotten better in math now than I did when I was in school. When I first started this course I thought to myself I don’t know if I will be able to solve these math problems and equations. I didn’t think that math was use in my everyday life such as cooking, grocery shopping, adjusting the bank, and maintaining my bills. I was a little nervous about taking this course online but my husband is doing his master’s degree online then I know that I can do my bachelor’s online also. I have learned new ways to do solve equations and other math problems. I believe the accomplishments I have achieved during this course is I am able to use math in my everyday life. I also have accomplished that I will soon have my degree and it was well worth it to have started school now that I did. My family are so proud of me, especially my husband he inspired me to go to school for something that I will enjoy doing and I love working, typing, and doing different software on the computer .One topic that has been a struggle so far was the long division because I have had many problems solving them. An action step I can take to overcome your struggles is taking my time because it used to be hard for me to learn long division but now I have realized that if I know my multiplication than I can do division, it was just that easy. So know I am doing well at it now. I really enjoyed this course, it has taught me that we use math in everything we do in life and it will never be…...

...Description The purpose of this assignment is to ease you into the realm of public speaking and to familiarize you with communication concepts addressed in class. For this 3 minute speech, you will introduce yourself to the class with a brief story about an experience in which your communication with others affected your self-perception. The experience could be from last week, last year, or several years ago. To help you explain how the experience on which you’re speaking has affected your self-perception, you will apply one of the concepts addressed in our textbook’s introduction and Chapter 3, specifically the concepts of mindfulness, self-serving bias, image management or face needs. For example, you may have grown up thinking yourself to be unfunny until your friends started telling you that you were funny. Looking at yourself through their eyes (and applying the notion that image management is collaborative), you slowly began to view yourself the class clown that you consider yourself to be today. Library research is not necessary, because the subject is you and your experience. However, you will be expected to cite from the textbook and organize your presentation using an introduction, body and conclusion. For an idea of how you might organize this speech, see the sample outline on your small section BlackBoard site. You should practice your presentation so you feel comfortable delivering it and can do so in the time allowed. While this speech is graded, it is......

How This Course Has Changed Me

...In this course I have learned much about myself, as well as other people, more so than I ever thought I would, and with this knowledge comes a great responsibility. When this class first started I only expected to learn the very basics of psychology like the different approaches to psychology from behaviorism, structuralism, functionalism, humanism, psychoanalysis, and other things. Not only did I learn about the essentials of psychology, but I also learned a great deal about myself and my past life experiences. This class has forced me to look deep within myself and confront my psychological demons. Doing that has helped me become more understanding and accepting of why I am the person I am today and what I can do to change certain things. Without the help of Psychology 101 and words of wisdom from my instructor I would still have no clue as to who I am as a person, and who I want to be, as well as what my purpose in life is. I have gained more confidence in myself this semester than I've ever had in my entire life. I feel more enlightened about many aspects of life, especially when it comes to understanding other people. I feel like this class has also helped rid me of the anxiety that I faced. In this paper I will discuss how this class has changed certain aspects of my life, how I've grown to overcome certain psychological hang-ups, and how I plan to use this knowledge in my future life....

...1. (20 pt) Go to http://www.stat.tamu.edu/~west/ph/sampledist.html. Use a skewed distribution. Take 1000 samples of sizes 2, 10 and 100. Construct a mean for each sample and look at the distribution of the sample means (third row). Record the mean and SD in the population for the original random variable. Make a table and record the mean of the means, and the standard deviation of the mean for each sample size (2, 10 and 100). For a bell-shaped distribution we showed that the mean of the sample means is very similar to the mean in the population for all population sizes. This is the property of unbiasedness. From your results, does the mean appear to be unbiased when the original distribution of the data is skewed? For a bell-shaped distribution we showed that the standard deviation of the mean, or the standard error of the mean, decreases with sample size. Is this true for skewed distributions? Calculate the standard error of the mean that is expected for each sample size and record in the table. How did the observed result compared to your calculation? * * Mean of the Population: 15.5297 * Median of the Population: 12.2861 * Standard Deviation of the Population: 12.5078 * * Sample Size | * Mean of the means | * Standard Deviation | * Standard Error of the Mean | * 2 | * 15.7741 | * 8.8115 | * 6.23067 | * 10 | * 15.4568 | * 3.847 | * 1.21653 | * 100 | * 15.5223 | * 1.2636 | * 0.12636 | * ...

...This is it bra........ Many companies have mission statements that explain why they are in business, what their products are and the consumer market they target. Strategic management is an ongoing process organizations apply to analyze internal processes and resources that deliver these products. There are four main phases that must be applied with each strategy, and decision-makers must understand the purpose of each phase. Free Brochure. onlinemba.neu.edu Formulation Formulation is the process of choosing the most profitable course of action for success. This is the phase for setting objectives and identifying the ways and means of achieving them. An analysis of corporate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats reveals critical areas surrounding the products and services that need attention. Take, for example, a company's objective to expand sales into the Internet market. If research shows that competitors in that market are not seeing a return on their investment, company decision-makers may explore other alternatives. Implementation Implementation is the execution of the necessary strategies to meet the objectives that have been set. To ensure success, all employees should understand their roles and responsibilities. Appropriate activity measures provide necessary feedback with facts that identify positive impacts and areas for change. In this phase,......

...the product is what it is selling for, but if I pay so much for the item I would like to have it around for a while. If I am able to have it around for a while then it’s worth the money. Clothes are like car, wanting something reliable to get to A to B, like warm than cold. So positioning the product as a product that stands its claim from advertisement to the closet or where ever they are placed is a claim that I would use to sell the product. If I can do this then a lot would not care about pricing, and place to get the items or products. Positioning something is hard because to many factors to worry about and choosing the right strategy to up lift the brand or product is important. I can see being worried about the price of a product or where to get the product but the product itself is what people want and people want a reliable product. The demographics these days are changing like the market changes. Being that demographics revolve around people because people make up the market as well, there are many views of this description or outlook of what the possibilities are allowing the market to become. When people are young they are usually were bought items, things they want and most the time it’s something that is new or what everybody seem to have, or just may have their own interest in a certain item. As people get older things change because they now want what they want and have to get it, which changes the market again as well. Peoples interest in items change as......

...3.1.4 Private torrents * 3.1.5 Merkle trees * 4 Examples * 4.1 Single file * 4.2 Multiple files * 5 See also * 6 References * 7 External links Background Typically, internet access is asymmetrical, supporting greater download speeds than upload speeds, limiting the bandwidth of each download, and sometimes enforcing bandwidth caps and periods where systems are not accessible. This creates inefficiency when many people want to obtain the same set of files from a single source; the source must always be online and must have massive outbound bandwidth. The BitTorrent protocol addresses this by decentralizing the distribution, leveraging the ability of people to network "peer-to-peer", among themselves. Each file to be distributed is divided into small information chunks called pieces. Downloading peers achieve rapid download speeds by requesting multiple pieces from different computers simultaneously in the swarm. Once obtained, these pieces are usually immediately made available for download by others in the swarm. In this way, the burden on the network is spread among the downloaders, rather than concentrating at a central distribution hub or cluster. As long as all the pieces are available, peers (downloaders and uploaders) can come and go; no one peer needs to have all the chunks, or to even stay connected to the swarm in order for distribution to continue among the other peers. A small torrent file is created to represent a file......

...employable. Preliminary results are presented from a questionnaire to 959 graduates, 546 civil engineers who have graduated between 1999/2000 to 2003/2004 from the Faculty of Technology, and 413 business administrators who have studied at the Faculty of Economy. The average response rate was 62 %. These employees have gained one to five years of work experiences in the Swedish labour market. The results indicate that when priority is given by the employees to own professional knowledge development, the graduates have a variety of strategies to be employable and for their career development. There are a number of factors affecting their attitudes to take responsibility for their employability. Some of those factors, based on empirical data from this first survey, are presented in a tentative model of employability, which will be further tested and developed based on survey data from a larger sample of Swedes. Keywords: employability, higher education, actor theory, graduates. Acknowledgement The project is financed by a grant for the Swedish Research Council. ARJ/ST  2007‐07‐09  2  INTRODUCTION Employability has become an established thesis in European labour market and in educational politics during the last decades. ...Often we hear the phrase, "promote from within" as one of the best ways to expand the talent pool. Yet sometimes firms do not post internal openings for which anyone may apply.  Instead, they select someone to promote. Why might a firm do this and what drawbacks could result? On the other hand, some firms prefer to look outside the company to increase the talent pool, including posting information on social networking sites.  What are the benefits of using social media for recruitment? A firm might want to “promote from within” because the company wants to attract their employees. Every ones want to work for a company where they will have the opportunities of promotion. This will encourage people to work harder because they want to go up on that ladder of employment. Also, “promote from with in” helps company save time and money on hiring any position. Company will not have to pay the advertising fee, won’t have to read a bunch of applications, and won’t have to interview lots of people. Another plus thing is when you promote someone from with in, that person already knows well about the company and how things work, so they don’t have to spend a lot of times to learn about the company culture and stuffs, which may lowers their performance for the first couple weeks like employees that are hired from outside of the company might. So “promote from with in is a great way to strengthen your company with out having to spend too much to find the perfect candidates. However,......

Course Description - An examination of cost accounting principles and practices such as job order costs, process costs and standard cost controls as well as specific managerial problem areas such as budgeting pricing policies and inventory control. In addition to the acquisition of the common body of knowledge and discipline-specific mastery, we address three goals: * Critical Thinking – the ability to identify a problem, ascertain what information is relevant, and arrive at conclusions based on the evidence. * Decision Making – The identification and evaluation of different alternatives. * Ethics – the role of ethics in managerial accounting (using the Institute of Management Accountants’ Standards of Ethical Practice) Course Learning Objectives: Managerial accounting has three foci: * The role of the managerial accountant; * The product costing function; and * Cost management, decision making, and performance evaluation. ...longer an inertial reference frame until you either stop or continue at a different steady speed. Example of an object having large inertia: USS Nimitz: Length: 332m (1092 feet) Beam (width): 40.8m (134 feet) Mass: 86,183,000 kg (190 million pounds) Speed: 15 meters/second (34 mph) We suspect this object, having a large mass, would strongly resist a change in its motion. So if the carrier is moving at 34 mph and shuts its engines down, how far will it drift? A thousand feet? A mile? In turns out that the stopping distance (in a smooth sea) would be about 32 km (20 miles), if no active measures are taken to stop the forward motion of the carrier (such as reversing the engines). Video clips demonstrating inertia of large objects: 1. Speed 2: final scene of cruise ship crashing into dock. 2. The Lost World (Jurassic Park 3): similar scene towards end of film where ship crashes into dock. 3. Star Trek: TNG: "Nemesis": scene near end where Enterprise rams alien spacecraft. Newton's 2nd Law: the Law of Proportionality The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force and inversely proportional to its mass. This is more readily expressed mathematically: Here, F = the force on the object (in units of Newtons), m = the object's mass (in kilograms), and a = the resulting acceleration (in units of meters per second per second, or meters/second2). Key points: 1. A force that results in an object......

...beyond debates and discourse as the city council here is poised to declare MCC’s Myke Sotero and two others who officiated the wedding as persona non grata and is contemplating a case against them. “The same sex unions have only popularized the issue all the more,” said former Baguio chief prosecutor Erdolfo Balajadia, who now sits on the 14-member city council here. “I cannot see (the filing of a case having) any legal leg to stand on. It was a religious rite, not a civil rite that was officiated,” he said. Sotero said more and more couples are applying to be wed after the much-publicized weddings. This early, at least 50 couples from Manila have already expressed their desire to have their union solemnized. Fighting discrimination But lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender (LGBTs) are fighting back and highlighting discrimination as the main issue. “This is no longer about the mass wedding. It’s already about discrimination,” Carol Galvez of the Lesbian for National Democracy (LESBOND) said, vowing to bring the matter to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights if necessary. LESBOND echoed their call for an end to discrimination in the country, especially from the local government and certain religious groups. She argued that the Magna Carta for Women that “protects your mothers, wives, sisters and daughters” also protects them. The Baguio Pride Network (BPN), meanwhile, expressed alarm over the pronouncements of Baguio-Benguet Vicariate......
