Epidemiological Rationale for Topic (statistics related to topic):
Houston, Texas is a community characterized by unhealthy options of its residents when it comes to physical activity and nutrition. Houston ranks high nationally in both obesity and inactivity. Persons in low income and targeted areas are key contributors to poor exercise habits, poor diet and lack of accessible fruit and vegetables.
High risk for more than the body requirements related to lack of nutritional knowledge and sedentary lifestyles as evidenced by high rates of obesity and little access to physical activities and health related lifestyles.
