...the P/E ration you take the market value per share and divide that by the earnings per share. As per Yahoo Finance when I did the calculation, the market closed on MSFT at $25.60 per share. The annual EPS from past years and moving foreword for MSFT is 2.75. So you take 25.60/2.75=9.309 for the P/E ratio. As looking through other industry averages and other companies who are along the same lines as MSFT I would have to say there about in the middle, maybe a little above the average in terms of you should buy because as a stock it is a little bit lower priced than others industry. Thus, you could say it is minimally underpriced and you could invest, but I would not expect great gains in the near future by any means. To start the risk anaylsis part of this report I feel obligated to report and show a little bit about how over the course of the period my portfolio fluctuated. The market was very volatile during our trading period and I think it played a big factor in the outcomes of our final portfolio in the end. As you can see from the graph my particular portfolio went up and down frequently and in a rather bigger range for where I ended up in the end. Touching on before the dips in my portfolio worth can be justified with my risks taking in some of the bad purchase that I made. As I went through calculating the different statistics about my portfolio, I started with the overall holding period return. Through calculations the HPR=-.015139 or -1.51%. Nothing special......

...Communication is the act of sending a message whether it is written or verbal. Communication can be sent by email, telephone, text message, television, and or radio. It is very important that we all master communication skills. Communication helps us not only in our working environment, but also in our personal life as well. There are many ways communication can be delivered. One of the ways is verbal, speaking face to face or via telephone. When speaking with some one verbally you can hear their tone and know whether or not someone is being sincere, upset, or happy. Verbal communication is in my opinion the easier of the two. You can actually hear and see what a person is saying. You can feel the emotion behind the words being used, and it has more of an effect on you. There are some that even when they are speaking verbally their words come across wrong or their tone doesn’t match what they are trying to convey to you. The following is an example that I have composed of a verbal communication. Good Ex: Can you please bring me the yellow binder at noon? Bad Ex: Bring me that thingy around lunch. The first sentence is polite, but in the second sentence you have no idea what the person is talking about and they are not asking they are being demanding. When using communication in written form it is more important to choose your words carefully and to use the appropriate tone. If this is not done correctly one could easily take the message as being offensive. Once......

...of a least-cost input combination will result in an optimal production of a target level of output. Conversely, employment of inputs such thatMRPi= Pi for each input will result in an optimal production of an optimal level of output. 2. “Output per worker is expected to increase by 10 percent during the next year. Therefore, wages can also increase by 10 percent with no harmful effects onemployment, output prices, or employer profits.” Discuss this statement. ANSWER This statement is correct so long as the projected increase in output per worker issolely due to an improvement in labor productivity and provided that the demand for output is also expected to rise. Gains in labor productivity are sometimes derivedfrom an improvement in worker skill due to education or experience, elimination of obsolete work rules, labor-saving technical change, and so on. When increases inoutput per worker can be directly attributed to such gains in labor productivity, acommensurate increase in wages can be justified with no resulting increase in output prices or decrease in employer profits. So long as output demand is growing as fastas the gain in labor productivity, no reduction in employment opportunities willresult. However, should output demand be stagnant, an increase in labor productivitycould reduce employment opportunities by reducing the number of workers requiredto produce a given level of output. It is important to recognize that increases in output per worker are sometimesmade......

The Vark Anaylsis: Learning Styles

...The VARK Anaylsis: Learning Styles Lesley Good Grand Canyon University Family Centered Health Promotion NRS-429V October 19, 2015 The VARK Analysis: Learning Styles Over the years, research has discovered that the ability for students to learn is based off of an individual’s strengths, weakness, and learning preferences. These learning preferences are divided into five categories: visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic, and multimodality. The VARK analysis developed in 1987 by Neil Fleming “was the first to systematically present a series of questions with helpsheets for students, teachers, employees, customers, suppliers, and others” (VARK Learn Limited, 2015) to determine an individual’s unique approach to the learning process. “VARK is an acronym for the Visual (V), Auditory (A), Read/Write (R) and the Kinesthetic (K) sensory modalities” (Kharb, Samanta, Jindal, & Singh, 2013). To better understand how this process works we will establish a scenario using Student A, allowing her to access the VARK questionnaire and give us some insight and understanding on how the evaluation process works to establish an individual’s learning style. The VARK questionnaire consists of 16 questions and given the results we will review the learning style for Student A, compare preferred learning strategies to the identified strategies, and discuss how the recognition of individual learning styles, preferences and strategies influence teaching and learning. Summary of......

Case Anaylsis

...Case Studies The aim is to sharpen your problem solving and decision making skills. You should try to link theory with practice to find your preferred solution. Also you must have an understanding of the issues that the organisation faces. You may need to read the case at least two or three times. Case studies help to develop the following skills: • Identify and recognise problems • Understand and interpret data • Understand and recognise assumptions and inferences as opposed to concrete facts • Think analytically and critically (what are the options available) • Understand and assess interpersonal relationships • Exercise and make judgements • Communicate ideas and opinions • Make and defend decisions Remember that case studies require you to solve or at least make suggestions on how to solve business problems, which are common to all organisations. Unfortunately this does not necessarily mean that you will have encountered the type of organisation before – and this can put off students. But also remember that the majority of students are in the same situation. The way around this is to imagine yourself in the job – you have been asked to carry out the tasks outlined in the question. All case studies are base on real life scenarios or as close to reality as possible – it is therefore likely that you could be in this role at some stage in your career. If you succeed in this, you will be able to......

...Critical and Creative Thinking Evelyn Bonilla PHL 458 Due January 13, 2014 Shuwn Hayes Critical and Creative Thinking Thinking critically is something teachers have asked students to do since they start school. It is something that bosses ask their employees to do and what CEOs of companies must do to stay competitive. However, critical thinking is one of the hardest skills to hone and maintain. Also, critical thinking alone does not keep a business running. Critical thinking must be paired with creative thinking to be truly successful. Think it through, if a CEO stops trying to innovate or create new policies or products then they stop evolving and become irrelevant. If you look at critical and creative thinking in the technological age, Blackberry is a prime example. For many years Blackberry had a stronghold on the “smartphone” market. It safe and secure email made it perfect for business people on the go and the full text keyboard, or “QWERTY” as its now called, made sending text messages and replying to emails so simple. However, then the iPhone was released. Blackberry did not want to change to a text screen and by the time they did; in late 2013 it was too late. Smartphones have applications, games, email, and a multitude of other features. However, companies are reluctant to create apps for the new Blackberry smartphone because Blackberry does not have the market share it once did. They may have seen that people did not immediately jump onto......

...BT Personal Skills Journey Key skills training for young adults www.bt.com/personalskillsjourney Foreword The BT Learning and Skills Programme is passionate in its promotion of the key role communication skills play in our lives. We recognise that in this increasingly competitive world, we need to equip our young people with an understanding of the basics in life as early as we can, as businesses both large and small cannot afford to recruit staff who are unprepared for their start in the world of work. You will use this workbook as a journal throughout the year to evaluate and record your personal skills journey. These skills are SOFT skills – this means that there is no one test that will demonstrate if you have them or not. Some people will be very good in one area and need to improve in other areas. The aim of this workbook is to help you decide what skills are your strengths (what you are good at) or your weaknesses – the skills that you will need to practice in order to become better at......
