My long term plan is traveling some countries in Asia, buying my own house and giving my parents a better life in the future. In order to achieve this goal, I need to complete my short term goal because this is the key to getting into college. I plan to do this by never giving up and never forgetting my goal because that is what is going to push me forward. ...any means. Students believe that they need to be the best at everything to receive a scholarship of any type, but that’s where a lot of them think wrong. Scholarships are available to almost any student and can be granted to students for more than just grades and athletics. The possibilities for scholarships are limitless and give you the best way to have some or even all of your college education paid for. Growing up many students think they need to be in the top ten or getting straight A’s and passing every test. Which isn’t completely wrong because when you do fall into that category it can make receiving scholarships an easier process. Although, if you don’t fall into that category scholarships are nowhere near impossible to receive because of the hundreds of options provided by companies and colleges in every state. Academic scholarships often called merit scholarships or awards, can be obtained by students who weren’t first in their class maybe, but still received good grades and show characteristics of a good student(“Types” para 2). Every academic scholarship is going to have different requirements and monetary amounts that can be awarded. A lot of companies offering scholarships look for individuals who possess leadership qualities and can represent colleges in a respectful manner (“Academic” para 2). Community service is not always a requirement for scholarships, but will always put you higher up on a list if you have done it (“Academic” para......

...Scott Chester 8/28/2014 Scholarship Essay Application I would greatly appreciate this scholarship. I would use the money for repairing my vehicle so that I would be able to drive to school without having to depend on other people to get me to classes every day. The financial aid package, along with the additional loans I am able to take out every semester, covers the tuition and books with very little left over to cover living expenses. The added cost to repair my vehicle is a financial burden that I do not know how I will be able to cover. In 2010, I had a siding company that had been successful for the past 7 years, because of the economy and construction industry crashing I ended up losing my business my home and my vehicle. After re-evaluating my life I decided I should go to school and pursue a new career. Being that I dropped out of high school in the 10th grade and earned my G.E.D., coming back to school as an adult was intimidating. I started attending Anoka Tech working towards a degree in automotive, after taking my general classes and one year of automotive classes I realized that due to having back problems an automotive career may not be the best option. After talking to the student success center I found that they were starting a new program called logistics. After doing some research I found that this is something that I can definitely excel at and would be a career I would enjoy. One thing that stands out to me the most during my time......

...Paul Banks Ocean Atlantic Rentals Swinton Scholarship September 17, 2014 This summer I worked in Avon, North Carolina as a delivery driver for Ocean Atlantic Rentals (OAR). I learned a lot this summer including how to drive a box truck, how to and how not to talk to girls, and most importantly I learned how hard work can pay off in huge dividends. When I first walked into OAR at the beginning of the summer I met some strangers that eventually became my best friends and the people that I would share the most incredible summer of my life with. After meeting my new co-workers, my attention was drawn to a quote written in big black letters on the wall: “You may be whatever you resolve to be.” –Major General Stonewall Jackson. This inspirational quote has helped shape me into the person that I strive to become. When I graduate from Hampden-Sydney College I want to open a successful business and make ridiculous amounts of money. Now, I don’t want to sound egotistical or arrogant, so I will say if this dream comes true I do not plan to be greedy nor do I plan on flaunting my money around. I want to help people with this money and to make a difference in this world. I want to leave an everlasting impression on people in a very positive manner. Being extremely filthy rich makes it very easy to help people that are in need but if I do not succeed in this goal I will still help out others who are in need. In the past, I have rang bells for the Salvation Army to raise......

...Scholarship, Practice, and Leadership University Name Student Name Instructor Name Date of Submission Scholarship, Practice, and Leadership Information literacy is the cornerstone of the academic profession and the link between scholarship, practice, and visionary leadership translates into excellence (Badke, 2009). The main product of scholarship, practice and leadership model is the leadership that will be practiced based on the inferences drawn from the information acquired from various sources (Mackey & Jacobson, 2005). Information literacy integrates into academic learning and transforms the student’s knowledge into a lifelong practice. The scholarship component of the model involves a continuous lifelong learning from numerous literacy sources that include both internet searches and libraries ; the Practitioner component of the model involves the workplace practice and social benefits that an individual accrues for the society with an intent of making an enduring change in the community or organization; the Leadership component of the model depicts the ability of impacting positively in the personal life, relationships, academic and professional levels of life. For the majority of my life, I have been exposed to and involved in many forms of business. I am in the school of Business and Economics for two main reasons, I love and enjoy interacting with people and making their lives better, and I want to make a difference in my workplace and the world. I am thrilled about my future, and with the help of a scholarship, I can achieve my life goal of starting my own non-profit organization. I believe I am worthy of a scholarship because of my desire to not only have an impact on my community and WVU, but to also make a difference in the world. My father instilled a strong work ethic in me, which I carry through in school and at my current job. Carrying that ambition with me to the workplace, I reached a shift leadership position at my job in college and in my hometown. In this position, I train new employees, assure daily tasks are achieved, and verify a smooth running business. Through this, I enhanced my own leadership skills and learned virtues of critical thinking and open-mindedness. In addition, because my love of adventure and animals, I volunteer at Coopers Rock maintaining trails and also caring for animals at the Animal House here in Morgantown. ...Star College – CyFair Honors Program Honors Scholarship Proposal Presented by: Jacob N. Qurashi and Tashara A. Frasier I. Title (Honors Scholarship Proposal )   II. Purpose To create a scholarship for LSC-CyFair students actively enrolled in honors courses or taking honors by contract which will aide students enrolled in these courses and serve as a recruitment and retention incentive to both the honors program and the college at large. III. Introduction a. Background As part of an ongoing student outreach campaign for the LSC-CyFair Honors Program, the Honors Student Organization has participated in many campus events this last year. Interested students frequently ask whether or not the Honors Program offers a scholarship to its students. At the present time LSC-CyFair does not offer a scholarship to its honors students. We believe creating a scholarship will not only help students taking honors classes which typically require additional materials or expenses in addition to those already incurred in the regular section, but can used as a marketing device for the honors program and the campus. Over the last couple of years, representatives of the Honors Student Organization have meet with Student Outreach to encourage publicity of the Honors Program at Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District high schools and local National Honors Society advisors; the addition of an honors scholarship would be a powerful selling point to both......
