Fhs Final Essay

...Making the project the past couple weeks really involved a lot more self-reflection than I initially anticipated. It took a couple of hours to come up with three core values that I truly felt defined me. After finding those values, trying to discover where exactly I learned each one presented its own task as well. I noticed that we have grown up and we very much consider ourselves individuals. We like to think that we are all made uniquely and that being ourselves is a good thing socially because it provides diversity. This term project showed me that I am not as much of a unique individual as I believed. I kept observing my progress and seeing that I am merely a reflection of the important people in my life. If my parents were people who boasted and bragged, I probably wouldn’t value humility so much. If I had never experienced hardships concerning my family’s economic status, I might not have ever developed the sense of compassion that I possess today. I didn’t come out of the womb as some extremely different kid because my environment made me that way. Realizing all of these things made me appreciate the work of Geoffrey Canada that much more. Even though he’s helping out young people in Harlem, New York, I am very grateful for his overall awareness. He has done everything he can to change what those kids are reflected off of. The program that teaches young parents various things about raising a child is crucial. Because of his ability to see the services that will......

...gov.ph/node/2664.html) ___________________________________________________________________ DoH asks hospitals, mothers to follow new birth-giving protocol called 'Unang Yakap' December 10, 2010, 12:14pm CEBU CITY, Philippines (PNA) — The Department of Health (DoH) on Friday asked state and private hospitals nationwide as well as Filipino mothers to follow the new birth-giving protocol to keep up with the government’s Medium Development Goal (MDG) of reducing childhood mortality by two-thirds to just six per 1,000 live births by 2015. DoH early this year launched a nationwide campaign on proper newborn-care practices. Dr. Honorata Catibog, Director III of the DOH-Family Health Office-National Center for Disease Prevention and Control (FH-NCDPC), said this program is dubbed as “Unang Yakap” (First Embrace). Catibog said the campaign is embodied in an administrative order entitled “Adopting New Policies and Protocol on Essential Newborn Care (ENC),” which details specific policies and principles to follow for all health-care providers involved in newborn care. She made the call at the end of the “From Womb to Tomb” media seminar at the Montebello Hotel in this city. Catibog echoed Health Secretary Enrique Ona’s call and an earlier statement of former Health Secretary Francisco Duque III which states that with the new protocol, the DOH expects a sharp cut in infant deaths to remove the Philippines from the list of 42 countries that account for 90 percent of global deaths......

The portfolio allocation of a 50/50 split of high tech stock and counter-cyclical stock produces a lower portfolio return than the expected market return. However, the risk level of this portfolio is significantly lower than that of the market level, giving a conservative investor such as Mary much greater comfort in obtaining the expected returns and protecting the investment principle. An increase in the counter cyclical stock could produce an increased return closer to the expected market return.
