Prezi Prezi is a cloud based presentation software and storytelling tool that is used for exploring and sharing ideas on a virtual canvas. Prezi is used as platform for bridging linear and non-linear information, and as a tool for both for free-form brainstorming and structured presentation. Text, images, videos and other presentation media are placed upon the canvas, and can be grouped together in frames. Users then designate the relative size and position between all presentation objects and may pan and zoom in and between these objects. For linear presentations, users can construct a prescribed navigation path. Prezi was initially developed by Hungarian architect Adam Somlai-Fischer as an architectural visualization tool. Prezi’s stated mission is to “make sharing ideas more interesting”, and it is intended to be an intuitive tool to develop and share ideas as a visual narrative. . Microsoft Powerpoint & Prezi

...When it comes to presentation software, Microsoft PowerPoint has long been the industry standard for presenting information to the masses. However, in 2009 a company based out of Budapest launched Prezi, cloud-based presentation software as an alternative to the well-established Microsoft product. Although both programs were exclusively designed as presentation software, there are some differences between the two that will be highlighted in the subsequent paragraphs. PowerPoint, a slide-based program developed by Microsoft, is presentation software that consists of a number of individual pages or slides. Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software tool that allows the user to create a presentation using a large, blank page instead of traditional slides. The distinguishing feature of this software is its zooming user interface which enables users to zoom in and out of their presentation media. PowerPoint is offered as part of a software package that has to be uploaded on a computer. Prezi, on the other hand is a free web-based, assessable program that is offered online and as a download for computer desktops. PowerPoint is a linear-based application that uses multiple slides to present information, almost acting as a teleprompter when the user is presenting information. Prezi is a non-linear application that uses panning and zooming features that tend to give it more of a cinematic feel as opposed to the traditional slideshow format of PowerPoint. When using......

On another note we have a 1000 word limit with our prezi. As there is 5 of of us i suggest 150 words each which leaves us with 250 words to "peice it all together " with our conclusion covered in week 5 and intro. Thoughts?? |  marcus |  28/8 |  Also, i think we should refrence with visual aspects such a pictures. And use the most we can with visuals and we dont have many words up our sleve. what does everyone think of that?As the assignment is due in approx 2 weeks, i think it would be good to get it all finished a few days before as this will allow us the freedom of starting and finishing Assignment 2B. | Marcus  | 29/8  | I have filled in all my elements up the top :) Cant wait to get it all done so we call put it all together ! |  Marcus | 2/8/14  |  Hey guys, i am new to prezi. ...if someone says they are your age and into the same things as you, they might not be telling the truth.   - If you are doing a Prezi presentation make sure you its relevant with no personal information. - Don’t arrange to meet someone that you have met online. Some people may not be who they say they are.  - If you are contacted by someone that you are unsure of on a forum, contact the forum administrator.  - Avoid sites that are meant for adults. If there are any problems with other users bothering you, an enquiry can be made by going on customer support for help on problems. However Prezi is not a major threat since it is secure and has privacy settings to choose who views your presentations and if you put the relevant information there should not be any potential threats. Prezi doesn’t need protecting because it is an online presentation site where you can choose different plans but also manage your own privacy settings depending on if you want everyone to view them or just your team you are working with. You agree to a term and policy so you are agreeing to their conditions meaning you are responsible for what you put on. Encryption is also used in various places like ecommerce, remote access and wireless networking security to prevent eavesdropping and spoofing. Encryption, to my knowledge, is not used on Prezi because the ability to for business meetings where as it will be used for the government for example which needs the......

Online Communication

...Assessment 2B By Jessica Mieli “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much” (Keller, H) how true this is in regards to group assessments. It’s not easy to give a rating out of 10 for my group assessment; I could easily say 10 out of 10! It’s perfect, but I would be lying. So I have decided to rate this assessment a 7. Allocation, time management and support were all key factors in achieving this level. Johnny worked on the Prezi, which he did fantastically, there is praise from all of us Minna wrote “how cool is that” while Alicia, Tamara and myself have all stated “how amazing” Johnny’s work on the Prezi was. Minna and Alicia’s dedication meant as a team member I felt supported, they offered praise and worked hard. They both were ready to fix things up such as referencing and my over the top word count. Each team member was allocated a theme and subtopics; however we did seem to have a misunderstanding on how to allocate these subtopics; as one person wrote about each theme instead of just one theme. Our theme was conflict resolution. Johnny, Minna, Alicia and I wrote about conflict in sport, workplace, home and amongst children our subtopics were conflict types, causes, management strategies and consequences. Instead of allocating a new theme to Tamara, Tamara wrote maintaining a conflict free environment for all themes. Our group wiki does show this misunderstanding and a comment from our eLa stating the error but we could leave it that way. This was a big......

...and work to everyone’s strengths. It was using the google drive and the document matrix where we were able to establish which team member would undertake what communication style sub-topic and which themes were most suitable to utilise across each sub-topic. Using the Wiki, emails and Google Docs made communication easier as 1 of our team members lives in a different country and time zone. We were able to bandy suggestions back and forth through these methods and the delay in time didn’t make much of an impact. With regards to the Prezi itself, Megan chose to design and manipulate the Prezi structure and layout. Being that Megan had, had previous experience with Prezi, the rest of the team were happy with this choice. In our team collaboration through Blackboard, we were able to see, use, and discuss the Prezi visual look and layout. Working together we were able to change the layout, make suggestions on colours, discuss and manipulate the Prezi movement and make the final decisions as to who would take on the final roles. Referencing, editing, proof reading, finding footage, introduction and conclusions roles were allotted to team members to finish the project. What role(s) did you take within the team and how did you personally contribute to the level of success your team achieved? My role in the team morphed into a directional/leadership role. I set up the Google Docs, created the matrix and began the suggestion drive for the Sub Topics and Themes. Upon Clares......

English Paper

...Osceola Williams Professor Angela Eward-Mangione English Composition 1 4/11/2016 `My thesis for the semesters projects is medical marijuana can in fact be used to help and save lives of many people in many different cases and any negative connotations can be either disproven or counteracted through other means. And in project three I remediate my argument through Prezi and other media such as political cartoons, videos and medical statics that would enhance my argument. First off I started with Prezi, which is a “presentation tool that can be used as an alternative to traditional slide making programs such as PowerPoint. Instead of slides, Prezi makes use of one large canvas that allows you to pan and zoom to various parts of the canvas and emphasize the ideas presented there” (Prezi 2015). I thought the use of Prezi would help me better convey my argument while making it interesting to the audience. My next media to use in my remediation was Political cartoons (also known as editorial cartoons) which can be defined as “illustrations or comic strips containing a political or social message that usually relates to current events or personalities” (WW2). They can show Symbols, Caricatures, Stereotypes, Analogies, Juxtaposition, Irony, Captioning, and labels. By using political cartoons I can demonstrate tropes on both supporting and against, while persuading the audience. One such political cartoon depicts a women in a doctor’s examination table talking to her doctor......
