Hre 3723 Leadership Paper

...Nicholas Duffel Section A Motherly Leadership Leaders can have a direct bloodline effect on people in their lives, especially mothers. This leader in my life happens to be Laura Landreneau, my mother. My mother has been sculpted into a great leader that has also shaped the lives she has influenced. During her early years, she enlisted within the Army as a nurse stationed in Ft Sam Houston. From her first days at Basic Training, she showed her skills as a leader from leading formations to becoming her Basic Training Platoon Leader. After her years within the service, she moved onto regular practice of nursing and became a mother of three children down the road. She brings what she learned as a leader to the table of being a mother and she uses her motherly skills learned to amplify her skills as a leader. She was chosen for this paper because of how she incorporates her character within all aspects of her life, career, family, friends, and community. Chapter 1 – The Nature and Importance of Leadership Laura says that through her years as an experienced nurse you must be that leader to those who are new and less equipped as her self. “Experiences you share builds that rapport within the work place with both your co-workers above you and at that same level as you.” Decisions have to be made sometimes in very quick instances depending on the severity of the case. Sometimes these decisions can be life saving as a nurse. This applies to students that sometimes decisions may...

...Bianca Chappel Section A HRE Leadership Profile Paper The individual who I chose to interview as a leader of my leadership paper is my high school teacher and cross country/track and field coach, Rudy Horvath. Coach Rudy was a well-known and greatly admired individual who not only exhibited great leadership skills throughout the school, but also in his community. Coach Rudy has been a member of the faculty at Cabrini High School for 14 years. Not only was he a skilled teaching, teaching both history and psychology courses, but in my opinion of the best track coaches that I’ve ever had the pleasuring of working with. Rudy Horvath was like a father figure to most with his protective demeanor and powerful words of wisdom. I truly believe that Coach Rudy was and still can be considered a great leader simply because he has experience working with other individuals and does an extraordinary job of motivating them to be the best at something. He’s also creating a positive atmosphere to set examples in order for others to reach their goals. Chapter 1- The Nature and Importance of Leadership Coach Rudy believes that leadership is important when it comes to things such as teaching and/or being a part of a sports team because it influences behaviors. Leadership in a teaching or school related environment is important because teachers are the only ones who can improve education. When a teacher possesses leadership skills then he or she is expected to positively impact student......

...HRE 2723 – FINAL PAPER TEMPLATE (revised) LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PLAN You are to answer the following questions: 1 – What is your definition of leadership after completing this course? I believe that my general view of leadership has not changed over this course, however, before I had a very vague concept of what leaders do and how they act but not an in-depth perspective of the exact characteristics that they possess and how they use them to better themselves as well as their followers. Through this course I have been able to see how different people view leadership and the strengths and ethics that people feel are essential for the people to be successful leaders. This course has been very beneficial for me as a leader for several reasons, however, I feel that my biggest growth came from the section in emotional intelligence and the importance it has in leadership. This is a concept that I had never given enough focus on and would be important for any leader to be prosperous. After completing this course my overall understanding of a leader has grown into having a true concept of what a leader is as well as what a leader does. Prior to this class I believed that managing and leading were synonymous and that a manager is automatically considered a leader. However, I have learned that a leader is not someone who just checks things off a list but much more. I still believe that a leader is someone that completes tasks and has managerial skills to get the job done but......

...Template . Determine what kind of paper you are writing: * An analytical paper breaks down an issue or an idea into its component parts, evaluates the issue or idea, and presents this breakdown and evaluation to the audience. * An expository (explanatory) paper explains something to the audience. * An argumentative paper makes a claim about a topic and justifies this claim with specific evidence. The claim could be an opinion, a policy proposal, an evaluation, a cause-and-effect statement, or an interpretation. The goal of the argumentative paper is to convince the audience that the claim is true based on the evidence provided. If you are writing a text that does not fall under these three categories (e.g., a narrative), a thesis statement somewhere in the first paragraph could still be helpful to your reader. 2. Your thesis statement should be specific—it should cover only what you will discuss in your paper and should be supported with specific evidence. 3. The thesis statement usually appears at the end of the first paragraph of a paper. 4. Your topic may change as you write, so you may need to revise your thesis statement to reflect exactly what you have discussed in the paper. Thesis Statement Examples Example of an analytical thesis statement: An analysis of the college admission process reveals one challenge facing counselors: accepting students with high test scores or students with strong extracurricular backgrounds.
