This is why Job descriptions are necessary because it define the required knowledge, skills, responsibilities, training, experience, certification or licensure, and outline of reporting for a specific job within an organization.  Carolyn Youssef stated in out text that “a job description identifies characteristics of the job to be performed in terms of the tasks, duties, and responsibilities to be fulfilled. Job descriptions serve as a standard or a benchmark for many HR matters such as compensation, performance evaluations, training needs assessments, and promotions” (Youssef, C. 2012, p.17).  “A well-developed job description is useful and purposeful and is a part of good management”.
